FMS is an international association for those interested in CULTURE and COMMUNITY.

We bring together the related fields of Mythological Studies, Depth Psychology, Archetypal Psychology, Literature, Arts and Theatre, Ecopsychology, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Anthropology, History, and Science. FMS is a venue for exploring our psychological life, for a better understanding of who we are as human beings and how we choose to live on this planet.

Becoming a member of FMS means joining a community of like-minded individuals who are committed to promoting consciousness in the world. It means being part of an open conversation that seeks to understand change.

To create change, one’s mythology or world-view must be examined, and the belief systems that sustain those beliefs must shift. This is no easy task.

Our programs and seminars are for those individuals who are interested in exploring and understanding the value of mythology and archetypal psychology in our daily lives – how do we experience the myths playing out in our lives and what can we learn from this. We have programs geared for professional development in the clinical and counseling fields (MFT, LCSW, Psychologists, Nurses) as well as creative workshops for those interested in the arts and media and how these affect the culture.

The FMS annual conference is designed to address the most pressing global issues of our time, those that are fueled by old mythologies or belief systems and hinder the ability to find meaning in our lives, that close down imagination, and that keep destructive paradigms in place and prevent consciousness.
